Study: Obese whites face discrimination

The study in the American Journal of Public Health finds that the perception of unfair treatment is associated with increased weight.

Researchers reached their conclusions by analyzing a Chicago-area health study of more than 3,000 adults.

They had been weighed and asked questions concerning discrimination against them.

Weight was not found to be related to feelings of discrimination among blacks and Hispanics.
