Silly String use could land you in jail

LOS ANGELES The sticky stuff has been outlawed during Halloween festivities along Hollywood Boulevard for the last four years. The no-tolerance ban goes into effect at midnight on October 31 and lasts until noon on Saturday.

Businesses say the ordinance helps to ensure a safe celebration while avoiding costly cleanup.

Anyone caught possessing, using or selling Silly String will face a $1,000 fine and could be sentenced to six months in jail.
