Poll: Race in gay marriage prop tightens

According to the poll, opponents of the same-sex marriage ban have a 49 percent to 45 percent lead, which is much closer than in previous Prop 8 surveys.

When it comes to Prop 7, which would mandate utilities use more renewable energy, the poll shows 43 percent oppose it and 39 percent support it.

Prop 2, a measure to give farm animals more space, leads 60 to 27 percent.

The poll is based on a random sample.
