Exercise could cut breast cancer risk

October 31, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
Vigorous exercise could cut a woman's risk of breast cancer by up to 30 percent. That's according to researchers from the National Institutes of Health. Experts say their study shows that strenuous activity - running, even scrubbing floors - seemed to have a protective effect against breast cancer. The benefits were highest for lean women.

Less vigorous activity, like walking or hiking didn't seem to offer the same protection against breast cancer.
