MONTROSE, Calif. Deputies said the girl was playing outside her apartment building when a man told her to get into his car on Sunday at about 4:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Del Mar Road.

The suspect opened his passenger side door and ordered her to get in the car, but the girl ran away. The suspect drove around toward the girl, who was hiding behind a rock.

He made a beeline to her, but then drove away.

The suspect vehicle was described as a large four-door older white sedan with a painted black door, with dark, tinted windows and a broken right headlight lens cover.

Anyone with information is urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's Crescenta Valley station at (818) 248-3464.
