Assistance centers open for fire victims

SYLMAR, Calif. The center will operate much like the assistance center already set up in Anaheim, which helps victims of the Freeway Complex Fire.

It will be a one-stop shop for residents to apply for aid from various state, local and community-based organizations.

Those organizations will be at the Sylmar Recreation Center seven days a week.

The center is located at 13109 Borden Avenue. It will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, until 4 p.m. on Saturday and until 2 p.m. on Sunday.

A local assistance center was opened on Tuesday in Anaheim at the East Anaheim Gymnasium at 8165 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
