Cost of public transportation may go up

Bus fare would go from $1.25 to $1.50. Prices for monthly passes would also rise.

Board members heard from the public last month.

Officials say higher costs for fuel, health insurance and pensions are reasons they are considering raising the fares.

If passed, the increases would take effect in January.
