Cousin arrested after deadly street race

One man is dead and his cousin is under arrest after a high-speed street race ends in a major crash on Sunday.Police said two cousins were on their way home from work when they decided to race each other along Alondra Boulevard in Norwalk just after 6 a.m.

Witnesses said the cars appeared to be going at least 100 miles an hour.

Lee Liu Chan, 25, was killed after he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree and light pole. Witnesses say Chan had run a red light when another car turned in front of him.

His 21-year-old cousin Erin Mua has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at the Bellflowercourthouse.
