Cousin arrested after deadly street race

NORWALK, Calif. Police said two cousins were on their way home from work when they decided to race each other along Alondra Boulevard in Norwalk just after 6 a.m.

Witnesses said the cars appeared to be going at least 100 miles an hour.

Lee Liu Chan, 25, was killed after he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree and light pole. Witnesses say Chan had run a red light when another car turned in front of him.

His 21-year-old cousin Erin Mua has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at the Bellflowercourthouse.
