CSU employees will not strike as planned

The United Auto Workers Union represents more than 6,000 academic student employees.

Officials say they decided not to strike after California Senate president Pro-Tem Darrell Steinberg agreed to help resolve the dispute.

The sticking point is waiving the student employees' academic fees.

CSU officials say the waiver would cost between $8 million to $11 million a year.
