Skydiving accident kills woman in Perris

PERRIS, Calif. Authorities say 33-year-old Brooke Baum's parachute did not fully open after she jumped from more than 12,000 feet above the Perris Valley Skydiving facility.

It's unclear why the parachute malfunctioned.

Baum was pronounced dead after she was found in an open field Friday. An autopsy was performed Sunday, but the results weren't immediately available.

Friends say Baum was an experienced skydiver.
