Several injured in Fullerton 6-car pileup

FULLERTON, Calif. The initial accident involving four vehicles was reported at 1:05 p.m. south of Chapman Avenue and was believed to have caused the two-vehicle crash in the same area, said Officer Jennifer Hink.

The most seriously injured patient had to be cut out of a vehicle and was taken to UCI Medical Center, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown.

Two others who suffered minor and moderate injuries went to area hospitals, McKeown said.

All four lanes were shut for about 45 minutes, and reopened about 2 p.m., Hink said.

Bedliners, which are put in the beds of pick-up trucks to protect the paint, are large but light, and are often not securely properly, she said.
