3K gallons of sewage spilled off San Diego

CORONADO, Calif. The overflow of wastewater near Promenade Park in Coronado was reported about 6:30 a.m., according to the county Department of Environmental Health.

It took city crews just over two hours to control the spill, which resulted from a power failure at a pump station, the DEH reported.

Signs warning of contamination hazards will stand around the inlet until follow-up testing deems the harbor waters in the area safe for recreational uses.
