Lang was shot several times outside the home. It was a party the two young men had been invited to at the last minute.
"The DJ stopped the music, people started running outside. So, it was just a frantic moment. I can admit that I panicked," said Brewster. "I was definitely scared ... for the simple fact ... that this ... he's my brother. We're together everyday all day. Everyone that knows me knows Flex."
Lang had many friends at Midnight Records on Robertson Boulevard, where he often visited. They say Lang was a popular young man and a talented basketball player. In 2000, he was recruited by Portland State and was looking to play ball professionally overseas.
"He was just a gifted athlete, He could do things on the court that only you could see in the movies," said Riley Frank, Riley O Midnight Records.
But more important than being gifted on the court, Lang's friends say he was a good guy and a trusted friend who will be missed by everyone.
"I mean you won't find anyone to say, 'I have problems with Felix.' No one ... No one," said Damian O'Connor, Lang's friend.
Anyone with information about this shooting is being asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) LAPD-24-7.
