Possible treatment for blood cancer?

Scientists at the University of Kentucky found that more than three-quarters of lab /*leukemia*/ cells exposed to grape seed extract died within 24 hours. The cells killed themselves without harming other cells.

The extract activates a protein that regulates the cell-signaling pathway that leads to cell death.

Experts say the research is still preliminary, but it is very promising.

The study appears in the January issue of /*Clinical Cancer Research*/.
