The Mount Wilson Observatory, located in the San Gabriel Mountains, is a world-class historical landmark celebrating its centennial anniversary. Some say this is where modern astronomy was born. Mount Wilson is geared up to continue its discoveries well into the 21st century and beyond.
The observatory is open to visitors every day from the first weekend of April through the last weekend of November, weather permitting.

MARGARET HERRICK LIBRARY
"The Margaret Herrick Library" is the cultural arm of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and is supported by the Academy Foundation. The library holds some of the world's most extensive and comprehensive research on the subject of motion pictures.
The library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and is located at the Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study.

VANITY FAIR EXHIBIT
"Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913–2008" showcases 150 portraits from the magazine's historic archive. The exhibit displays celebrity photographs from its inception to present day, paying special attention to renowned photographers Edward Steichen and Annie Leibovitz. The exhibition will run at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art until March 1, 2009.

"CALIFORNIA, SEEN" EXHIBIT
California, Seen examines the important California Scene painting movement through paintings depicting the rural, urban, and changing landscape of southern California by featured artists. This exhibit is on display at the Long Beach Museum of Art through April 5, 2009.
