LAPD shows off new station

LOS ANGELES The grand opening of the new Olympic area community police station was held Saturday at the new facility along South Vermont Avenue.

The station houses nearly 300 patrol officers, staff, and detectives. The station will serve more than 200,000 people within a six-mile radius of the station.

It was paid for by a $600-million public safety ballot measure back in 2002.
