A man was driving a /*Chevy Avalanche*/ northbound on Figueroa when somebody shot at his truck at the intersection of West 223rd Street. The car moved forward about 50 yards before coming to a halt.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, was injured and was taken to a local hospital. He was declared dead at the hospital.
Homicide detectives from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department have been investigating the scene all night, taking photos of shell casings and interviewing witnesses.
The intersection will be closed while detectives scour the area.
