Acid reflux drugs can block key enzymes

People who have heart attacks are often given blood thinners, like Plavix. They can reduce the chances of a second heart attack.

But taking acid reflux drugs as well, can pose a problem. New research shows acid reflux drugs - like Prevacid and Prilosec can interfere with blood thinners, making them less effective.

Some acid reflux drugs block a key enzyme that prevents Plavix from functioning properly.
