New tool may predict cancer survival

Toronto researchers looked at breast cancer tissue in about 350 women. They found a difference in how proteins are organized within cancer cells.

Certain patterns indicated more favorable outcomes than others. Doctors say knowing which cancers are more responsive could help doctors determine who needs more aggressive treatment.

Authors hope this will lead to better success rates.
