CRH hormone linked to post-partum

LOS ANGELES Researchers at UC Irvine found high levels of the hormone, CRH, was a strong predictor of post-partum depression.

Risk factors of post-partum depression include a history of premenstrual syndrome, stress and anxiety during pregnancy.

Researchers say their findings could raise the possibility that a screening test for postpartum depression could one day become part of standard prenatal care.
