Pot stash discovered in ceramic donkeys

FONTANA, Calif. Fontana police, working with drug enforcement and ICE agents, watched the home in the 8900 block of Reseda Avenue for three days.

The surveillance paid off when someone dropped off a load of ceramic donkeys, and about 1,500 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $1.5 million, was found inside the statues. Each donkey reportedly contained more than 5 kilos of marijuana.

Neighbor Chris Affolter lives next door and recalled a big rig arrived Tuesday at about 9 a.m.

"My mother-in-law said they just swooped in, and before you know it, the bust was all over with. It was a real quick thing," Affolter said.

There is no word yet on arrests as the investigation into the drug shipment continues.

Police said there was also a similar bust in Sun Valley, where 13 people were arrested.
