Researchers also found women were 14 percent less likely to receive treatment with clot busting drugs, aspirin therapy or cholesterol treatment.
And women waited 15 percent longer to get a CAT scan. One reason women may wait longer is because they are less likely to exhibit classic stroke symptoms, and medical staff may be slower to recognize strokes in women.
