Discovery may lead to drug to fight flu

Researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Harvard Medical School have identified antibodies that protect against many strains of the flu virus, including the bird flu.

Antibodies can be used as drugs that experts say could lead to the development of a flu vaccine that would not have to be changed yearly.

Clinical trials could begin within three years.
