Report: L.A. home sales on the rise

LOS ANGELES Home sales jumped 84.7 percent in the Los Angeles area in January compared to last year, but median home prices fell 35 percent over the same period.

The median price of a home in L.A. is now just over $305,000.

The study was conducted by the L.A.-based California Association of Realtors.
