Applicants will need to complete performance exam consisting of a 1,000-yard ocean swim, a 500-yard ocean swim and a 1,500-yard run-swim-run.
Tryouts are being held at the Huntington Beach Pier, Lifeguard Headquarters, 103 Pacific Coast Highway.
