Man gets year in jail for stabbing puppy

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. Justin Carrafield, 26, had pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, as well as cultivating marijuana.

When Orange County deputies arrived at the scene, they found the puppy stabbed seven times and his girlfriend injured and choked.

The 8-month-old puppy named Azure needed extensive vet care, but did survive.
