Central Coast boy missing at sea

DAVENPORT, Calif. Searchers in a helicopter and in a boat looked for the boy since he was reported missing before dawn.

The boy, who has not been identified, was with a friend when he fell into the water in Davenport, just north of Santa Cruz.

The Coast Guard says it doesn't know why the teens were at the scene at 4 a.m. The friend said the boy drifted 20 yards in the water when he lost sight of him.
