Sports Museum closing to general public

LOS ANGELES It opened just four months ago.

It was billed as the world's largest known collection of sports memorabilia and collectibles under one roof, including a /*Babe Ruth*/ uniform.

The facility boasts more than 10,000 items, worth more than $30 million.

The museum, located near downtown, will continue to offer tours by reservation for groups of 15 or more.

A similar museum in New York City closed last month citing financial problems.
