Investigators say the victim had just pulled up to a home when a black SUV rolled up alongside and someone inside opened fire.
Several bullets pierced the front passenger window of the victim's white Pontiac Grand Am, striking him in the upper body. The man was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Detectives say they do not believe the attack was gang-related.
