Casey, a former linebacker at Long Beach Poly High, was convicted in 2007 of first degree murder in the shooting death of /*Rashad Ali*/, who was killed after leaving a dance competition in Culver City.
Last December, an appellate court rejected defense claims that errors were made during Casey's trial.
But the panel did order his fifty years to life prison sentence cut in half.
