I.E. amusement park slams door on raves

REDLANDS, Calif. All-night dance parties have drawn thousands to the popular park in Redlands. But, the event has also led to noise complaints from people who live as far as five miles away.

Now, the owners of /*Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom*/, who have been working with city authorities, are offering to suspend the park's conditional use permit for two months.

If the permit is suspended, raves that are held at the park would violate city codes.

According to police, girls as young as 12 were seen at one rave. Several dozen arrests were made for drug charges, drunken driving, vandalism and assault.

Redlands Police Chief Jim Bueerman said it isn't a healthy situation for anybody. He also added that it isn't consistent with the values of the community.
