NASA provides live video from space

NASA has begun streaming live video from outside the station, showing the planet and other parts of the cosmos, from its orbit, which is over 200 miles above the earth's surface.

But you'll only be able to view the images when the crew is asleep or off duty, because NASA needs all four available communications links for sending data.

The agency also decided not to show video from inside the space station to give the crew privacy.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
