Plans for park in downtown L.A. unveiled

LOS ANGELES Under the plan, the park would be divided into 4 zones: an event lawn, a community terrace, a performance space, and a plaza.

The park design must still be approved by the L.A. County Board of Supervisors and several agencies.

Most of the $56 million funding for the Civic Center park has already been secured.

Officials hope to break ground on the park in mid-2010. It is estimated that it would take two years to complete.

The park plan was designed by Rios Clementi Hale Studios.
