Electricity bills to go up in SoCal

Edison has received permission from California regulators to hike rates by two percent next month, an increase of $2 to $4 in the average monthly bill.

Edison says it's necessary to upgrade transmission lines and buy equipment.

Edison is also expanding programs, offering rate discounts to its low-income customers.
