Fire blazes at Ontario recycling center

ONTARIO, Calif. The fire broke out Monday at about 5 p.m. and burned straight through the night and into Tuesday morning.

Officials say the fire is under control, but it will be sometime before they can put it out. They said they cannot use water on it. Firefighters are using bulldozers to try to break up the flammable material.

Fortunately, there is no wind in the area, so evacuations are not planned for nearby neighborhoods.

Firefighters hope the have the fire out by Tuesday evening.

No one has been hurt, and the cause is under investigation.
