8 Americans killed in Mexico bus crash

ZACATECAS, Mexico Police say the tractor-trailer went off the road, the driver over corrected and swerved into oncoming traffic. The driver went into the other lane and collided with the bus, which was carrying 23 tourists.

The driver of the cargo truck is among the 15 injured, who are still hospitalized.

The Senda Express bus, operated by /*Grupo Senda*/ was carrying Texas retirees from McAllen, Texas, to the mining town of Zacatecas in central Mexico when it crashed on the road between Saltillo and Zacatecas, near Monterrey.

Canadian foreign affairs confirmed that some Canadians were passengers.

Authorities identified one person killed in the crash as 72-year-old Ronald Christy, who wintered in Texas and lived in West Liberty, Iowa. His wife Margaret Christy was critically injured.
