Study: Blame heredity for math skills

A new study out of /*UCLA*/ confirms that the section of the brain used for mathematical computations may be 85 percent reliant on heredity.

They point to the amount of myelin in the brain, which has an effect on the speed of nerve impulses. Researchers said myelin is thicker in the part of the brain that handles math.

While math ability may be 85 percent hereditary, vision seems to be 76 percent hereditary, and self-control may be 65 percent hereditary.
