Man gets life in prison for O.C. murders

IRVINE, Calif. Police said Bahram Nazeri believed his wife was having an affair, so he stabbed her 20 times and her mother 26 times, then put both bodies in a bathtub filled with ice.

Nazeri told his two daughters, ages 6 and 8, their mother had gone on a business trip, and ordered them not to go in the bathroom. Meanwhile, he continued to fill the bathtub with ice to suppress the smell of dead bodies.

However, Nazeri's brother noticed the smell and when he asked Nazeri about it, he said he had murdered his wife, but claimed then claimed to be joking. Nazeri's brother reported him to the Irvine Police Department.

Nazeri faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.

His daughters were placed in protective custody.
