Man busted with record amount of heroin

ANAHEIM, Calif. Gerado Medina Hernandez was dismantling the front wheel wells of his Volkswagen Toureg when drug agents arrived to serve a search warrant at his Lincoln Avenue home on Saturday. They discovered the heroin piled near the vehicle.

The 25-year-old native of Mexico was arrested and charged with transporting drugs for sale. Authorities said he has no known prior criminal record in California, but if convicted, he faces 25 years in prison.

Investigators suspect Hernandez is a major drug trafficker with a Mexican cartel, but they're still investigating where the heroin came from.

Hernandez was booked at the Los Angeles County Jail and is being held on $2 million bail.
