Reward offered in murder of 2 teens

HIGHLAND PARK, Calif. /*Alejandro Garcia*/ and /*Carlos Hernandez*/ were walking in the 6100 block of /*North Figueroa*/ Street on the afternoon of March 13 when they were confronted by several young men. Shots were fired and the suspects fled.

Garcia and Hernandez were transported to a nearby hospital, where they died from their injuries.

Investigators say the victims were not gang members, but they do believe the shooters are.

Because of the time and location of the shooting, police say there may have been dozens of witnesses, but so far very few people have come forward with information. Detectives say they have few leads and described the suspects only as having short hair.

The LAPD stresses that witnesses can report tips anonymously by calling 1-877-LAWFULL.
