Charges dropped against TV choreographer

LOS ANGELES Alex Da Silva has been released from a Los Angeles jail, but prosecutors continue to investigate allegations that he sexually assaulted four of his dancing students.

The 41-year-old Da Silva, who stars on the Fox television show "/*So You Think You Can Dance*/" and teaches dance at the Mayan Club in Los Angeles, was arrested Saturday. He was accused of sexually assaulting four female students at his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys between May 2003 and March 2008.

However, on Tuesday, the Los Angeles district attorney's office said it did not have enough evidence to charge him. Da Silva was released from jail.

Prosecutors are asking police to conduct further investigation into the alleged crimes before deciding whether to file charges. A D.A. spokeswoman also said that more alleged victims have come forward, but have yet to be interviewed.
