Riverside hosts beach volleyball tourney

RIVERSIDE, Calif. Workers have begun building a faux beach right in the middle of downtown Riverside.

Over the next several days 3,500 tons of sand will be dumped on Market Street to create beach volleyball courts. Fifteen volleyball courts are being set up for the three-day competition.

The Crocs Tour Riverside Open begins April 17. Among the competitors will be the men's American gold-medal winners from the /*Beijing Olympics*/.

Players will include Olympic gold-medalist Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers; as well as Olympians Jake Gibb, Sean Rosenthal, Nicole Branagh, Elaine Youngs and Holly McPeak.
