Rewards approved for 3 hit-and-run cases

LOS ANGELES On Nov. 8, 2008, Royce Miles, 71, was riding his motorized wheelchair across 47th Street at Central Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle just before 1 p.m. Miles was killed.

His daughter Joyce Miles joined the appeal to the public.

"I can't sleep at night, thinking about my father every day. He was the best father," she said.

In another case, Jorge Miranda Mota was crossing San Pedro Street at 27th Street just after 10 p.m. when he was hit on Dec. 13, 2008. The 45-year-old Mota was killed.

And in the last case, on Dec. 17, 2008 Eop Dong Yoo was struck while trying to cross Westmoreland Avenue near Pico Boulevard. The 75-year-old woman died.
