O.C. missing boater's body found

AVALON, Calif. A 41-foot /*Coast Guard*/ rescue boat, a Dolphin helicopter, an HC 130 aircraft and an 87-foot patrol boat searched for Lawrence Nash and his boat all day Monday in the waters north of Catalina Island and in /*Baywatch Avalon*/.

The Coast Guard released a statement Monday night, saying it was calling off the search for Nash.

Nash's 12-foot skiff was reported adrift early Monday morning about 1/2 mile north of Catalina.

The boat has not been located, but a helicopter found debris.

The Coast Guard said an oil can, water cooler, and seat cushions were found north of Arrow Point, Catalina.

The Coast Guard says Nash was last seen leaving the bait barge near Cabrillo Beach Marina early Sunday morning.

An autopsy is pending on Nash's body.
