May 27, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
The L.A. County Board of Supervisors is offering a $10,000 reward for help solving the murder of high school football player.Dannie Farber, Jr., 18, was killed Sunday night while eating dinner with his girlfriend at Louisiana Fried Chicken in Compton around 9:40 p.m., when a man in a mask walked up to him and shot him four times.

Police said Farber was not a gang member, but believe the shooter is.

"There were some things that were said and done at the crime that the witness has told us that leads us strongly to believe that it was gang-related," said Chief Cecil Rhambo of the L.A. County Sheriff's department.

Farber was set to graduate next month from Narbonne High School and was planning to attend Harbor College.

Anyone with information is urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.
