UCLA says its researchers have been the targets of stalking, threats, and arson attacks.
University officials say some activists have even held demonstrations at private homes, occasionally banging on doors and windows in the middle of the night.
According to UCLA Chancellor Gene Block, the university maintains strong monitoring on its research involving animals. Block says the university's research seeks to discover treatments for a number of diseases and medical conditions.
