Long Beach patrol car, minivan collide

LONG BEACH, Calif. The collision, reported at about 9 a.m., trapped a female driver insider her minivan for about 15 minutes after the collision at the intersection of Wardlow Road and Los Coyotes Diagonal.

LBFD Battalion Chief Frank Hayes said firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the woman from the van.

Paramedics took the woman to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The police officer was also injured and was taken to the hospital with neck pains.

There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

The identities of the police officer and the woman were not released.
