Mercedes hits man on side of freeway

POMONA, Calif. Officers say a man and his girlfriend were driving Monday night when the man started to feel sick at about 10:30 p.m.

They pulled over, and the man had gotten out of his car and was standing on the shoulder when a Mercedes struck him.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but reportedly was in stable condition by Monday morning.

Police said the driver never stopped.

The car was black, possibly customized, and suffered front-end damage.
