Ex-hospital worker admits stealing info

LOS ANGELES James Allen Wilson, who worked in the billing department at /*Cedars-Sinai Medical Center*/ from 2003 to 2007, pleaded guilty Monday to identity theft, insurance fraud, grand theft, and failure to pay income taxes.

Wilson stole personal information on more than 1,000 Los Angeles Unified School District employees, and billed insurance companies for $1.3 million in treatments that were never performed.

In addition to the prison time, Wilson was ordered to pay $354,000 in restitution to the victims and $62,000 in back taxes and penalties to the state of California.
