Cooler June than normal in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES The /*National Weather Service*/ says temperatures in Los Angeles were below normal every day of the month.

June's average daily high in downtown Los Angeles was 74.5 degrees, five degrees below normal for this time of year.

The downtown daily high reached 80 degrees or higher only twice in June. The last time it was this cool in June was in 1982.

The change was even more dramatic at Los Angeles International Airport. The highest temperature for the month was 71 degrees, the lowest maximum for the month since records were first kept in 1944.
